· Nurses can utilize evidence-based practice (EBP) to give high-quality health care to a specific population by using critically appraised and scientifically proven data. (Majid., 2011) EBP focuses in the clinical or workplace on nurses’ awareness of, understanding of, and attitudes concerning EBP, as well as factors that can favor or hinder adoption. (Majid., 2011) In addition, the nurses’ knowledge sources and literature searching skills were assessed. (Majid., 2011) EBP implementation increases the pressure on nurses to apply credible evidence to particular client situations by searching for related evidence, making clinical judgments, and taking into account client values and system resources. (Majid., 2011) A nurse must be able to identify knowledge gaps, formulate relevant questions, conduct an efficient literature search, apply rules of evidence to determine the validity of studies, apply the literature findings appropriately to the patient’s problem, and appropriately involve the patient in the clinical decision-making process to effectively apply the EBP process. (Majid., 2011)

·     Quality assurances the provision of services that satisfy an applicable standard—is one aspect of quality improvement. Problem-solving entails involving all departments concerned in the problem. (Moran., 1992) Quality improvement is a continual process in which all levels of an organization collaborate across departments to provide improved services to healthcare clients. (Moran., 1992) Medicine delivery errors were minimized in my clinical rotation from the time that I was there by using two patient IDs, confirming with the MAR, and double-checking and having it verified by another nurse.

· Evidenced-based practice contributes scientific research to assist us in making legitimate and proper decisions. It helps nurses to assess research so that we can recognize and interpret the risks and efficacy of treatments. Where I am currently doing clinical, I noticed that EBP is applied through infection control methods, such as performing proper hand hygiene consistently, adhering to safety protocols and precautions to reduce transmission, and implementing methods to reduce hospital acquired infections. It is essential to wash hands before assessing/touching a patient, before aseptic procedures, after body fluid exposure, and after touching the patient or their surroundings. (Mehta, Gupta, Todi, 2015) I also see EBP being applied in clinical when nurses do a protocol nasal swab test for admitting patients to prevent the spread of COVID.

· In one QI initiative that I found, the focus was on optimizing patient care, reducing variation and resource utilization, and enhancing safety through a frequently used safety hotline. After the pandemic, traditional care processes required immediate restructuring to mitigate the risk to patients and staff and involved rapid daily changes to adjust to understanding the virus that became an opportunity to develop a new framework within the healthcare setting. (Foster, Stack, 2020)
