Community partnerships alone will not ensure a school’s success. Partnerships are an important strategy for creating inclusive schools that retain the resources needed to meet the educational needs of diverse student populations. It is the responsibility of the educational leader to incorporate community partnerships in their school improvement efforts. A well designed and implemented community partnership can assist any school to maximize its effectiveness for students. Professional development on this topic can help teachers and stakeholders engage in community partnerships to achieve the schools goals.
The Candidate will identify methods of collaboration that will be most efficient in learning how to engage in school-community partnerships for their faculty. The Candidate will provide an introduction, evaluation, and discussion on the current status of the school-community partnerships at their school. The Candidate will provide two (2) professional development goals that will be necessary to create a program for educating staff on topics of school-community partnerships at either an elementary, middle, or high school including the implementation of a one (1) year plan. The Candidate will design a 3 hour workshop that can be conducted with 2 or more teams responsible for coordinating and implementing school-based community partnerships.
